comments approval in sharepoint 2010 discussion board

hi all

Is it possible to provide an approval process for all the comments for a particular discussion ie whenever a person comment on a discussion , the comment should be visible only when the authority (manager) approves it .Is that feature available in out of box or any custom web part is needed

Great question! Yes, it is possible to turn on comment moderation for a discussion board. (It's not typically on a discussion-by-discussion basis, though; it's easier to do it for the whole discussion list. I'm not sure if that's what you were asking about or not.)
