  • Howdy,

Expression Blend allows you to create Silverlight content to be used in web sites. Web site creation in a generic sense (asp.net, html etc) is a job best served by Expression Web.

  •  Thanks Howdy,

Now can you tell me that if i have created some effacts on buttons like shadow or some other effacts using expression blend. can we integrate that button with shadow effact to the expression web. Or is there any other way to give some enchanting effacts to objects in Expression Web itself.?

  • As far as I know, Expression Web does not yet support XAML in terms adding assets directly to a web page.

BitmapEffects are not supported in Silverlight either (because of security) so you will need to look for workarounds for those effects.. you can use an image as a button which is limiting, but if you are determined to have the effects I dont know of any other way to do it. Someone else maybe able to shed some more light on that for you though.

    Cheers

  •  I think you might have seen some of the sample designed website that are hosted on http://silverlight.net/ that are made using silverlight . So do you think those sites are made using Microsoft Expression Blend or something else.?

  • Expression Web can also be used to create Web sites by using the slicing tools and exporting the results.  You would then need to edit in Expression Web or other Web authoring tool to convert to HTML add textual content.

Expression Blend would be used to create any Silverlight interaction.

  • Hi,

Expression Blend allows you to design and edit Silverlight content (i.e. xaml) and not a web page (i.e. html content). Expression Web allows you to edit the html content. The Silverlight content can be embedded in a web page.

You could create a web page such that the only content within it is a Silverlight content. In that case you can completely edit the content within Blend.

You can find examples on how to use Blend to create Silverlight content at http://silverlight.net/GetStarted/

    Thanks
