  • Question

  • Hi,

What's the Component IDs for Office 2013 Shared PIA and PIAs for the individual applications (Excel, Word etc.)?

I need them to create launch conditions in a Visual Studio Setup project.

    Thanks,

    Andrew

  • Hi Andrew,

Thanks for posting in the MSDN Forum.

lf I don't make mistake here, here seems no Office 2012. Do you mean VSTO Runtime for Visual Studio 2012? Would you please take a look at http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/officedevpreview/thread/b3320dc0-7bcb-4bc1-8d77-1a29ef491e95?

    Have a good day,

  • Hi Tom,

Sorry, but that is not what I am looking for. I want the Component IDs like in this question http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vsto/thread/9bde5b41-f5da-4918-b62b-8ab24479ef93 but for Office 2013, not Office 2010.

    Thanks,

    Andrew

  • Hi Tom

I'm sorry, but those are not Component IDs I'm looking for. Normally they are not easily found in the registry, you would rather use the Orca tool on an .msi file to extract them. But I since the PIA components are part of the Office setup (".NET Programmability Support") I don't know where I would extract them from.

Anyway, this is the guide I'm following to create a Setup project for my VSTO Excel add-in solution. The PIAs for Office 2010 are listed down the middle of the document ("Component IDs of the Redistributable Primary Interop Assemblies for Microsoft Office 2010")  but as you know I need them for Office 2013 because they are different

Of course, if you have a another solution for how I could check that the ".NET Programmability Support" is enabled on an Office installation in my Setup project, that would be good too... :)

  • I am in a similar situation, attempting to create a PowerPoint add-in and need to reference the Component ID for Office PowerPoint 2013 in the windows installer. I tried using the Component IDs in the registry but they aren't working. The installer says PowerPoint isn't installed when it clearly is.

  • Hi,

Tom, I don't think that the numbers you provided are the Component Ids that Andrew asked for. I also would be very grateful if you or someone else could provide the Component IDs for the Office 2013 Shared PIA and for the separate Excel 2013 PIA. I really need these to update my VSTO setup project. I have followed this article for Excel 2010 (it's along article, scroll down 2/3), but I need to do a similar thing for Excel 2013.

    Cheers, and thanks

  • I am working on an Outlook add-in. For me the Office 2013 id {F9F828D5-9F0B-46F9-9E3E-9C59F3C5E136} for 32 bit Outlook 2013 is working for both 32 and 64 bit Outllok installations. Anyone faced the same issue?

  • Sidharth,

I don't know if you'll see this, but just curious if you have a ComponentID for OneNote?
