Sample proposal workflow stays in Proposal Selection RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Guys,

I've been trying to figure out how Sample Proposal Workflow works. I've one user with Portfolio rights and one with PM. PM starts a wf and it goes fine and Portfolio guys receives notification for all approvals and reviews, but this stops at Proposal Selection stage. I don't know to whom the request is sent to. I don't find any documentation regarding this. There's link i found on net of video walk through but that doesn't work. Please help!

    Thanks,

    Kashif

  • Hi Kashif--

I was working on a recent case for a customer & came up with the same question.
Once the proposal is done with selection review under create phase, It's ready for the Proposal selection using Portfolio analysis. As per the analysis, System doesn't send email/notification to Portfolio manager/group that proposal is ready for the selection process.

I am sure that you know you can create a send email step in workflow for notification.

I'll allow others to correct me  if I am wrong.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Amit,

Thanks for the reply. As far as the notification is concern it's fine at this moment. I was unable to proceed from Proposal Selection. After posting this, I found out that it has to be Committed via Portfolio Analysis to proceed. Now, I've moved to Resource Planning stage, where I am stuck again how to move forward from here. I was just wondering if there is any proper site which can guide me for running the whole WF cycle.

    Thanks

    Thanks, Kashif

  • Hi Kashif--

Ok, In that case, looks like that you need to check your Portfolio analysis
Please make sure that you created a resource plan in proposal  & checked "Analyze time-phased project resource requirements against organizational resource capacity " during Portfolio analysis  & once you select it, the plan phase that have the Resource planning will be analyzed & commit. Once you commit that this will move from Resource planning to Scheduling.
