Windows Thunderbolt support - PCIe pause RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all.  Does anyone know if Windows currently supports or will support the notion of PCIe pause as mentioned here?  This is a crucial issue for obtaining Thunderbolt approval.

    Thanks

  • Well the standard PnP rebalancing that has been in Windows for 15 years sounds a lot like the PCI pause concept in that reference.  Windows will issue a stop to a set of devices so that it can adjust resources.

  • Thanks Don.  So then kmdf will just call the appropriate callbacks and, hopefully, the driver will do the right thing.
