Animating a MapIcon by its Lat/Long - Best method? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have searched the forum for animation and not really found a question already asked.

Q: I have placed a MapIcon on my map and I receive (from another source) a new set of Lat/Long coordinates so I wish to update the MapIcon that I have placed so it looks like icon has moved. Does anyone have a suggestion on the best way to this?

I not sure if to delete the MapIcon I placed and a draw a new one or perhaps see if the currently placed MapIcon can have it's location (Lat/Long) updated so that it refreshes it's location automatically.

Any advice or suggestions would be helpful to me before I start :-)

    TIA

  • You can just update the Location of the MapIcon directly. The new position will be updated on the map without needing to delete and create a new one. Once added to the map control, MapIcon properties can be updated and will change on the map control - it doesn't create an immutable copy when you add it.
