  • Question

  • We can't use automatic failover so we have to use WMI. My question is I need to disable all the jobs on the original principal server. But since the server or at least the database is not available. How do I disable the jobs when the server comes back online?

  • Hello Alan,

I would actually create a job step before the actual logic of the jobs to check if it's the principal. If it isn't th eprincipal, exit - if it is then keep on going.

This information can easily be queried from sys.database_mirroring as the mirroring_role column for your specific database(s) in question.
