Private Embedded Resources RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello to all. I have a small doubt.

I have a library that has a few embedded resources (text files, images ...). What I have verified is that from another project, anyone can access with the function GetManifestResourceStream and read them or save them to disk.

I would like to protect them. I have tried a heap of things already. Permissions of reflection, and up to changing the way of access of the resource in the line of commands of the compilator, since I saw here:

Someone knows as I can manage to protect them in order that only I from my library could access to them?

    Thank you very much.

  • I recommend obfuscation, e.g., XOR-"encryption". Keep in mind that you can't prevent true hackers from getting them, no matter what you do.
