Application Hang Issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello All,

I have an issue where an application is atempting to verifying user credentials against a domain which may not be pressent.  When the domain is present everything works.  When the domain is not pressent the function call waits for lsass.exe to time out.  Then the application fails over to a local autentication source and designed.  My issue is that while lsass is timing out 2008 displaies the "Application not responding" popup.  For me this creates a problem because a user can now exit the application and get to the OS, which is very undesireable.

Is there a way, via regestry, group policy or other method to either disable this popup or extend the time before it is displayed?  Another idea might be to change the timeout on the domain autentication, but i dont know that settings location either.

Any other ideas are welcome as well.  Thanks.
