  • I found solution. All you need to add below tag between <head>.. </head> in Master Page.

    <SharePoint:SPPageManager runat="server"/>

  • When you a post a question and say "it's not working" you should give an example of what happens.  Is the link missing? Do you get an error?

  • Please elaborate your question. Nothing happens when you click the link or u receive any errors. What functionality you are expecting out of the click.

  • I'm having exactly the same problem so I'll try to elaborate. Our company made extensive changes to the out-of-the-box master pages when rolling out SP2010. Everything that we tested worked fine and the migration was completed around the beginning of this year.

    Recently someone who uses the "email a link" function a lot told us that it's not working -- and it's true. When you're in a document library or web part that displays files and you choose Send to > Email a link from the drop-down associated with a file, nothing happens at all.

    The drop-down and menu items all seem okay (not grayed out). However, if we apply any of the Microsoft-created master pages, the function works again. I'm guessing that we deleted a placeholder or control that we shouldn't have, but which one?

    Does anyone have any ideas about what code on the master page to look at?

    Thanks very much in advance!

    John

    ps: If we apply an out-of-the-box master page to a site, the "email a link" function works perfectly.

    pps: There is no error message after clicking "email a link" -- absolutely nothing happens. Also the platform is Sharepoint 2010 Server (standard).

  • I am having this problem (send to> email a link does nothing, no errors, nothing happens) using SharePoint 2010 and the default master pages. This was working and we have not customized the master page. I edited the master page and added the above line and it fixed the problem. This WAS working and I'm not sure when/how it was broken. I do not want to edit the master page, we want to leave it default. What gives? Why is mod'ing the master page necessary all of a sudden?

    Hi, I am having same issue, can you please be more specific when talking about about Master page?, where can I find this page, Is that the name of the page? Master?

    Thanks

  • We had the same issue......I went on vacation.... and now to everyone's surpriuse it works!  We have not made any changes to masterpages -- don't use Designer or VS.NET. (The only thing that changed between failure and success was that i setup SharePoint 2010 document search and ran the Search. I doubt it is related.)
