Powershell / VB2015 / Windows 10 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have developed applications using VB2010 under Windows 7.  With Windows 10 becoming common, I tried to compile my application using VB2015 under Windows10. I obtained several errors BC3002 for lines associated with the old Powershell.  For example:

    Friend WithEvents ShapeContainer1 As Microsoft.VisualBasic.PowerPacks.ShapeContainer

which appears in the file form.designer.vb which was created automatically by VB2010 while designing the form.  I appreciate Windows 10 has a new Powershell.  What I would like to know is, what to use in place of the old line?

Windows Powershell and the .NetPowerpacks are two quite different things.  You need to install the .NetPowerpacks. See:

If this is the same machine on which Powerpacks was originally installed then there is no need to download  it again - just add the Powerpacks as a reference into your VS 2015 project. See:
