How to include a form in message body of Outlook 2007? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to create a form to include in the message body of Outlook 2007.  I have a application that builds a HTML message body from a SQL database and includes a form for the recipient to add comments and select an "Approve" or "Decline" radio button and then submit the form.  My HTML email works great versions of Outlook 2003 or older but does not display the form content in Outlook 2007.  I have read the following thread: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vsto/thread/d66b780e-c784-40bb-a59e-273ed250f53a and attempted to create an Access 2007 email, http://blogs.msdn.com/access/archive/2006/06/30/data-collection-through-email.aspx, as a substitute for my current HTML message body.  The email created from Access 2007 only produced free form text fields but I am wanting to use other form types.

Is there a way for me to get around the Outlook 2007 not being able to render HTML form elements so that I can have a similar effect I was able to produce for Outlook 2003 and older?  The only way I am able to accomplish being able to use the more than just text form elements is to create a link in the email to a webpage.  I am trying to avoid from having the recipient have to go somewhere else to fill out the form and just let them submit the form from the email.
