Validation failure - interaction with Office services question RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am wondering how much interaction I need to have in my Add-in to pass validation:

1.1 Your app or add-in must offer unique value or utility within the app or add-in experience that extends Office or SharePoint functionality for Office Store customers.

Currently my add-in does utilize the services. I get the userProfile of the logged in user and use it to pre-fill the email in the log in form. I gather the email addresses in the To/From/CC fields and use those as suggestions for users to include in my add-in. And I use the roaming settings to store user information.

Does all that in itself sound like it should pass that validation requirement? I'm wondering if I will need to integrate more with their services, or if I just need to call this out to the validators, as they may not have seen the 'Include' (people from email) if those people were not in the same company as the logged in user.

I was directed to post my questions here...feedback very welcome.

  • Hi Fond Developer,

do you mean that when you submit your Add in to the Store and your add in get rejected with policy below.

1.1 Your app or add-in must offer unique value or utility within the app or add-in experience that extends Office or SharePoint functionality for Office Store customers.

it means that you should provide something new feature that is not available in Office currently and your feature can extend the user experience and provide user friendly environment.

if you got this message then you need to implement some new feature in your Addin.

it is not related with validation.

if you got any validation related error message in your development then let us know about that.

we will try to provide further suggestions to solve the issue.

    Regards

    Deepak
