WinUSB as part of a USB Composite Device RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I've got a USB device which is a composite device with two interfaces, one HID and one MSD - it supports the Microsoft OS descriptors so gets WinUSB on the HID interface.

When I come to open the devicepath enumerated, it gives me a FILE_NOT_FOUND error. It looks like the path is correct as it matched the format specified in https://www.silabs.com/community/interface/knowledge-base.entry.html/2013/11/21/windows_usb_devicep-aGxD

  • So, it's a HID class device, but you're overriding that to force WinUSB?  I thought the OS descriptors only worked for device classes that didn't have an inbox driver.  Are you sure it's not enumerating as HID?  Where do you see the device in Device Manager?

Are you getting the device path from SetupDi?  What, exactly, is the path you get?
