Check for Ethernet connection RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am looking to setup a script that will check for an ethernet connection when i log in and then disable wireless if the connection is active over the lan. I know that in windows 7 you can have both on and they should be seemless but I do have some problems when both of them have IP addresses and I want to find a way to check for lan connection that is on and disable wireless. I have something that can disable wireless but I have no way of checking for live Lan.

  • Can you be more specific? I am pretty green with VBScript. I am having a hard time pulling the information for this. Once i have it I have something that will disable the wireless if ethernet connection is true..etc. Thanks

  • The code Chen pasted is PowerShell, not VBScript.

What language are you working with?
