Sharing the access tokens with other apps ?

    General discussion

  • Hi,

how do i share the access tokens with other apps installed on the system so that other app get to access the same web-service without need to authenticate the user again ?

here is my detailed use case -

there is a web service abc.com and i have two apps ( X and Y ) that uses the same service installed on the system.

now, if X log-in to the abc.com for authentication and retrieves the access token, i want to share this access token with app Y so that the user, when using Y, is not asked for the authentication  again.

how do i achieve this ?

i am storing the access token using PasswordVault in app X, is there a way to share this vault with app Y ?

what is the standard way of doing this? does OS provide a mechanism to achieve this ?

  • You could use a cloud service like OneDrive or your own to store the token based on user ANID.

There isn't a way for one app to save so that another could automatically read it.
