Biztalk 2013 R2 configuration with scaleout RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to configure biztalk 2013 R2. I successfully configure it single box environment. I also able to configure primary biztalk app server (by keeping windows firewall disable). I will appreciate if somebody can share all firewall rules need for Biztalk.

Now I am trying to configure second app server as scale-out box. I am getting following error for configuration of BAM tool. Please help me to figure out this issue.

  • Hi,

This happens if you do not have the SQL server databases on the local BizTalk server.

On the BizTalk server install the following:

    1) SQL Server Native Client (sqlncli.msi)

    2) SQL Server 2005 Management Objects Collection (SQLServer2005_XMO.msi)

    3) SQL Server 2005 Notification Services (SQLServer2005_NS.msi)

Now configure BAM Tools and BAM Alerts and the installer will not throw any errors.

  • Hi,

BAM Alerts with SQL server 2008R2 needs installation of SQL Server 2005 Notification Services and others.

With SQL Server 2012 BAM Alerts it uses SQL Server Database Mail feature to send notifications.

    Pls refer :

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj248684(v=bts.80)#BKMK_BAMAlerts

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj248696%28v=bts.80%29.aspx

BAM Alerts using SQL Server 2012

Configure SQL Server 2012 Database Mail.

  • Try downloading the installation  documentation from

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=35552

When using SQL 2012 for BizTalk 2013R2 then  for Notification Services, there is an explicit requirement for enabling SQL Mail first. You can also check the configuration issues with Multi server Configuration

Try to check your MSDTC configuration with DTCping and DTCtester.

These can be downloaded from below location

    DTCping

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=2868

    DTCTester

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/293799

You also need to verify SQL configured for TCP/IP call, appropriate permissions in SQL, Domain User Group.

    Thanks

  • I enabled sql mail, as I could do it on first server my understanding is sql mail must be good.

I could configure other features , mean able to connect existing group for business rules and management database and all. So DTC might be good too. But configuration wise DTC is identical on both box.
