Can't open addanapp.aspx after applying custom master page in sharepoint 2013 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi
    I am using oslo.master in Sharepoint2013 site.
    Now the following url is working.
    https://XXXX.sharepoint.com/_layouts/15/addanapp.aspx

    Issue

    =======================================================

    I have created a new master-page
    (ie. just copied and pasted the oslo.html
    then renamed
    and set this as System master page.)

    Everything is working fine except the
    above url(https://XXXX.sharepoint.com/_layouts/15/addanapp.aspx ). This is not opening.
    It is always shows loading.

    ============================================================

    Since last one week I am searching for solution. Can any one help me?

    Am I missing something?

    I have asked question before. But the answer is not related to my question

    In the referred post they can open the "addanapp.aspx". In my case I am not even able to open the page.

    Thanks

  • You mentioned in your original post that you created a new master page by copying and renaming Oslo.html.  I assume at this point it should have generated a new HTML file?  Also, once you did this did you set the new master page to be used as the master page for the site?  And then is that when you started having issues?

    Hi John Thank you for your questions.

    Using designer I have copied the “Oslo.html”  and renamed it to “alcetech.html”.

    Respective “alcetech.master” automatically created.

    Then I opened the site in browser and set the Site Master page to “alcetech”. But nothing has happened (ie.my master page not applied)

    Then I set the “System Master Page” also to “alcetech” (now my master page has applied and working well)

    But only thing : When I am trying to open https://XXXX.sharepoint.com/_layouts/15/addanapp.aspx  This is always showing “Loading ...” .

    I could not find any solution in net for my issue.

    Thank You John.

  • I am using the SharePoint 2013 Branding and User Interface book and I'm going through all of the labs. I am now having the same issues that the original poster described. Everything is working properly except the addanapp.aspx. This page sits at loading and moves no further.

    I would greatly appreciate assistance.

  • Hello,

    I resolved this issue.

    I changed something on my Masterpage ("Oslo"), because i dont want to see my "PageTitle" on my Start-Page.

    #####################

    <div id="contentBox" class="ms-pub-contentLayout ms-verticalAlignTop" aria-live="polite" aria-relevant="all">
        <a id="mainContent" name="mainContent" tabindex="-1"></a>
      <!-- <h1 id="pageContentTitle" class="ms-belltown-pageName ms-noWrap ms-dialogHidden">
            <SharePoint:AjaxDelta id="DeltaPlaceHolderPageTitleInTitleArea" runat="server">
                <asp:ContentPlaceHolder id="PlaceHolderPageTitleInTitleArea" runat="server">
                  <SharePoint:SPTitleBreadcrumb
                      runat="server"
                      RenderCurrentNodeAsLink="true"
                      SiteMapProvider="SPContentMapProvider"
                      WelcomePageUsesWebTitle="false">
                    <PATHSEPARATORTEMPLATE>
                      <SharePoint:ClusteredDirectionalSeparatorArrow runat="server" />
                    </PATHSEPARATORTEMPLATE>
                  </SharePoint:SPTitleBreadcrumb>
                </asp:ContentPlaceHolder>
            </SharePoint:AjaxDelta>
        </h1>-->
        <SharePoint:AjaxDelta id="DeltaPlaceHolderMain" BlockElement="true" IsMainContent="true" runat="server">
            <asp:ContentPlaceHolder id="PlaceHolderMain" runat="server" />
        </SharePoint:AjaxDelta>
    </div>
    #####################

    So, i´m change my Code you see bellow

    #####################

    <div id="contentBox" class="ms-pub-contentLayout ms-verticalAlignTop" aria-live="polite" aria-relevant="all">
        <a id="mainContent" name="mainContent" tabindex="-1"></a>
        <h1 id="pageContentTitle" class="ms-belltown-pageName ms-noWrap ms-dialogHidden">
            <SharePoint:AjaxDelta id="DeltaPlaceHolderPageTitleInTitleArea" runat="server">
                <asp:ContentPlaceHolder id="PlaceHolderPageTitleInTitleArea" runat="server">
                  <!--<SharePoint:SPTitleBreadcrumb
                      runat="server"
                      RenderCurrentNodeAsLink="true"
                      SiteMapProvider="SPContentMapProvider"
                      WelcomePageUsesWebTitle="false">
                    <PATHSEPARATORTEMPLATE>
                      <SharePoint:ClusteredDirectionalSeparatorArrow runat="server" />
                    </PATHSEPARATORTEMPLATE>
                  </SharePoint:SPTitleBreadcrumb>-->
                </asp:ContentPlaceHolder>
            </SharePoint:AjaxDelta>
        </h1>
        <SharePoint:AjaxDelta id="DeltaPlaceHolderMain" BlockElement="true" IsMainContent="true" runat="server">
            <asp:ContentPlaceHolder id="PlaceHolderMain" runat="server" />
        </SharePoint:AjaxDelta>
    </div>
