Can you enable freb and paste input request information and module which is generating 405? Follow steps here to enable freb and view log.

Actually, just look into your w3c log files and you'll see what "Method" is being sent to IIS; then make sure that the handler for your application accepts that Verb.  Also, if the URL isn't to an actual file or if it's to a directory without an appended slash, you may get the 405 error.

Another way to debug this is to use ethereal or some network monitor to see what is actually getting sent.

     Hello davcox,

Thanks for your response, i have found the log file and the verb/method is sending to the IIS is "POST".So i do i make the handler of my application to accept the verb?

Yes. If you know which handler is picking the request, make sure handler is configured to allow POST verb. If you don't know which handler is picking the request, send a http request from the local IIS7 machine which will give you detailed error message with handler information in it.

My log file shows the followings below after three attempt to connect to database. It seems not to contain any handler. How do i get to see the handler info in IIS 7 when testing a connection to a database.I tried to check the Applicationhost.config file, but it contain so many handlers and i do not know which handler is picking this particular request.

Easiest way would be to make the request from the local machine - the resulting detailed error response would contain the handler for the request.

    Hi Jandon -

I have had this problem for the past couple weeks as well and after some tough research, I have found a fix.

It is located here > http://www.macromedia.com/support/dreamweaver/ts/documents/err405.htm

If that does not redirect, this is the actual page that it redirects to > http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_16774&sliceId=2

Don't do any special handler request changes or anything at this time. Just follow the simple instructions in the fix. If you need more help, let me know.

     Thanks - Tony

     Hi Tony,

Thank u very much for your assistance, but when i tried the instructions on the fix step by step accordingly, what comes up when testing for connection is "access denied", but not HTTP Error 405 again. So i still cannot connect to the database.
