  • Question

  • Hi Guys,

this is the third time while this issue becomes reality. I work on my Excel sheet and define a datasource, create relationships, desing a pivot table and so on and save my workbook successfully.
But if I try to open my workbook after a excel restart this error pop up

and I'm not longer able to edit my powerpivot data.
Is it possible to solve this or is it a bug?

    thx in advance!

    regards

  • If you can share the workbook with us, we would like to bring it in house so we can look into further on the corruption. Please let me know.

    Thanks!

  • Hi, Is there any further update on this? I am having the same problem. I create a new workbook, start the Powerpivot designer, connect to a datasource (table or cube), switched back to the workbook and then saved it (I tried using the Save option in the Powerpivot designer and it prompted me to save the base workbook). It did not save the powerpivot data part along with the workbook. The second time, I used the 'Flattened Pivot table' option in the Powerpivot designer wherein it brings the rows back into the base workbook. After saving the workbook, on reopening it-i got the same message that the user does not have access to the data source and that the Gemini database is corrupt.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Steven,

This issue was addressed in PowerPivot RTM bits. If you are using PowerPivot CTP3 please install RTM. Also, this happens to the workbook created using CTP3, you might want to recreate it to avoid this problem.
