Just loaded (September 17 2011) Windows 8 Developer Preview 64 onto an five year old Asus P5 Intel dual core 2.4ghz with 6gb of memory and Seagate 500gb HDD, Acer 24" 1920x1080 monitor, iRock usb lighted keyboard, Pixxo wired gaming mouse.
Windows 8 64 setup from dvd installed all the drivers perfectly on initial startup been running 24/7 since!
No probelms at all running Microsoft Security Essential, LiveMail, CCleaner (auto), Speecy, CPUID, Imgburn, Open Office, LogMeIn, Asus Wireless N connection, Remote Desktop connection.
Everything works as well as my Windows 7 64 setup; pretty amazing for such an early preview version!
