Is the solution still disconnected with "occasional" connectivity? RRS feed

  • Question

  • The article defines that most mobile applications may not have network connectivity at most times.  Hence, the proposed solution is using SOA so that database connectivity is transparent to the application (smart client?) when disconnected?  Is this a correct derivation this article?

  • It would be more accurate to say that a solution based on store-and-forward messaging would be appropriate.

While that kind of messaging is extremely valuable in SOA, there's more to SOA than that.

You might want to take a look at the overview of nServiceBus (http://www.nservicebus.com/) as it describes the use of store-and-forward messaging in a fair bit of detail.

    Hope that helps.
