HIPAA 837P ST02 and 2300 Claim Information loop RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,
I have a business requirement that needs me to limit the number of 2300 Claim Transactions that can occur in a submitted EDI file. If there are about 1500, 2300 claims within a individual edi file, i need to create a new ST and its corresponding BHT and all loops from the 1501th claim. While I have configured the ST values in party configuration, is there any place where I can limit the number of 2300 claim information loops? Is that something configurable?
Also what is the advantage of configuring ST values in part configuration? Can I achieve my aim of limiting the 2300 Claim loops to 1500 in some configuration?

  • You can write a custom pipeline component to achieve it. You can process the EDI XML and split it in pipeline component. There is no OOB support to achieve it right now.

  • There are lots of interfaces available for us to implement a custom pipeline component, can you suggest the right one for the EDI XML split? Is there any good point of reference available online where one can refer to create a custom pipeline specific to HIPAA Schemas?

  • Thanks Gyan, I have a question here. I have a issue in the service lines part of the 837P creation for which I will have to use a custom XSL in the map. The case is like having the entire map in the xsl, after implementing xsl, will I be able to build a custom pipeline that can handle the ST values?

I'm novice in creating a custom pipelines, thats why I have to ask these kinds of questions.
