Bulk insert using .NET Odbc Data Provider RRS feed

  • Question

  • Does Odbc Data Provider provide the Bulk Copy APIs from the ODBC, something similar SqlBulkCopy.  I see ways to do bulk copy using the ODBC, but not with the .NET bridge. Any suggestions ?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Bulk inserts (or copies) is a database specific implementation so you won't find support for it through ODBC.

  • How about the TRANSACT SQL BULK INSERT command?

There isn't anything built into the ADO.NET ODBC namespace library.

  • Hi Paul,

Seems like the Transact SQL Bulk Insert is applicable only to the Sql Server. I need a solution that could work for other databases too.

    Thanks,

    Matt
