can't get Lightswitch to install RRS feed

  • Question

  • Trying to install Lightswitch into VS 10 Pro.  I followed the setup instructions and it says that it installed correctly.  However, when I open VS and start a new project, Lightswitch does not show up on the template list.  Suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi,

According to your description, I’d like to know if you have restarted your computer after installation.

If so, I’d like to suggest you to download the tool from Microsoft official websites:

1.Install Visual Studio 2010 SP1 (this might also install Silverlight 4 which is needed for LightSwitch 2011)

        http://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=23691

2.Install the Visual Studio SDK SP1.

If you need further assistance, please let me know.

  • Visual Studio LightSwitch 2011 was the first version of LightSwitch and did not ship in Visual Studio 2010. Visual Studio LightSwitch 2011 is a separate installer that integrates into Visual Studio 2010 or can be installed standalone. You can download Visual Studio LightSwitch 2011 from here, but are required to purchase a license after the trial version expires if you'd like to continue using LightSwitch.
