Developing MS Access solutions in ADO with XP/MDAC 2.8 and Vista/MDAC 6.0 RRS feed

Our developer platforms are on both Windows XP/Access 2003 and Vista/Access 2007.  Our clients are using Windows XP with Access 2003.  The Vista environments do not have MDAC 2.8 or allow 2.8 installation.  The Windows XP environments cannot have MDAC 6.0 as it is intended for Vista.  The problem is if the Vista developer delivers an Access db to our client or to a Windows XP developer, the db responds with "missing references" errors due to not being able to find MDAC 6.0.  Conversly, if Windows XP developer sends program to Vista developer, the "missing references" occurs as Vista cannot find MDAC 2.8.

Question:  Is there any way around this "Missing references" problem other than having to modify the MDAC references on an XP machine when a Vista developer makes changes prior to sending the db to an XP client?
