svcutil - nested attribute groups problem RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Using svctil to generate service code from a third-party wsdl with the following basic command

    svcutil *.wsdl *.xsd /n:*,mynamespace /synconly

The xsd contains some nested attribute groups. The resulting code doesn't include properties for the attributes in the nested attribute groups.

I can work around by removing the nesting, but this is not ideal as the xsds are not mine, but is there any way to get this to work properly or is it basically a bug?

  • Hi Usmbot,
From your description,I am not clear about your problem. Within the limits of my knowledge. the downloaded XSD file is used for describing the data document of the service, It may contain descriptions of members that do not need to be serialized. If the member in the datacontract is marked as DataMember on server-side, the generated data contract in the client will include the data member, if the member is not marked as datamember, it is not a member of the data contract. and therefore it will not be generated in the client code.
Would you mind telling me more details?
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
