Possible options to access and update data for web application. RRS feed

  • Question

  • HI,

I am a database person. We will be building a web based app. using .net framework and c# code. I was wondering, if we have only one option to implement DB "CRUD" operations only through Stored Procedures? or if there are any other alternatives which also give best possible "Database" security for the web application from the external world?

    Please suggest alternatives.

    Thanks.

  • Not really. If you are concerned about having SQL in your code then the option is to use stored procedures. Otherwise, it's an issue of implementing best practices (that satisfy your requirements) with respect to security at the web server/application level (which you should probably be doing anyway).
