Unable to install OneNote from TechNet download RRS feed

  • Question

  • I downloaded the ISO file for OneNote 2007 from TechNet. Extracted the files to a folder and try to run Setup. Setup begins and displays the following message:
"Setup is unable to proceed due to the following error(s):
The 2007 Microsoft Office system does not support upgrading from a prerelease version of the 2007 Microsoft Office system. You must first uninstall any prelease versions of the 2007 Microsoft Office system products and associated technologies.
Correct the issue(s) listed above and re-run setup."
I am running Win XP Home with Office Professional 2007 which came from the Microsoft Company Store. It was not a pre-release version that I know of.
Suggestions to get OneNote to install? I have the product key but it never gets to that point.

  • Hello,

Since OneNote 2007 is not part of Office Professional 2007, any chance you installed a pre-release version of OneNote? Or even any other pre-release Office products not included in Office Professional 2007? I'd suggest looking in your program files for any such culprits, delete them, then retry OneNote 2007 setup.

    Hope that helps.
