The specified credentials are invalid? RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are using Bing Maps for our web site - we have established 3 keys - and now we are receiving: "The specified credentials are invalid." note with the map - why?  What needs to happen for this to work again?

We have very important demo Monday morning in Orlando conference, that we would like this to work in.

All help and assistance is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,

    Harri

  • Hi Harri,

There are a couple of reasons why this might be happening.

    • (Most common) The first reason could be something as simple as an issue when copying the key. Check to ensure that the key you have in your code is identical to the key you see in your account.
    • (Occasionally) Another potential source for this issue is if you are using trial keys. Trial keys expire after a bit of time. Log into the Bing Maps portal to see if your keys are red which would indicate they have expired.
    • (Rare) In rare occasions, some accounts are disabled. This could occur for a number of reasons, such as excessively exceeding the free terms of use, or if it was an enterprise account that was way behind in payments.

If you are using a trial key, try replacing it with a basic key.
