Building a Cross-Region Virtual Network RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

There's a few posts about this already but nothing overly definitive from recent months. I'm building a search solution that wants publicly available VMs in different regions (UK+US for now) - this is easy enough.

I want to have an indexer service in the UK region which updates the search databases in the US AND the UK - now I could do this with lots of separate cloud services, a lot of firewalling and my own DNS server - but is there a way to have all the US and UK servers in the same virtual network?

I realise i could bring it all back through my UK on-premises network but that also doesn't seem ideal

    So that's:

UK: 1 Query Engine VM, 1 Indexer Service VM, 2 search database VMs

US: 1 Query Engine VM, 2 search database VMs

Ideally the query engines will be able to communicate with all four search databases (For failover) and the indexer with all 4 search databases. They need to be able to address specific search databases (rather than a load balanced approach)

    Thanks in advance,

    HC

  • Hi,

    Thanks for your posting.

According to my reaesrch, a virtual network is limited to a single region.

    Regards.
