  • Hi,

The DefaultTemplate.xaml is declarative sequence workflow definition. A workflow definition is a tree of configured activity objects. This tree of activities can be defined many ways, including by hand-editing XAML or by using the Workflow Designer to produce XAML.

The workflow engine which TFS used under the cover will serialize the workflow from DefaultTemplate.xaml and execute it. The activities in DefaultTemplate.xaml are mainly custom activities created by TFS team using Windows Workflow Foundation.

If you want to build your own Workflow, you can refer to:

    Windows Workflow Foundation Programming
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd489462(v=vs.100).aspx

If you want to custom the workflow in DefaultTemplate.xaml, it is recommended you get further support at TFS forum. Thanks.
