My site using tables for layout. Should I feel bad about it? RRS feed

All replies

  • Two divs in a container div, one with a width and floated left, the other with a margin-left equal to the width of the first div.

  • The content in the nested tables could simply be two divs with lists in them, just by themselves, not inside tables.

    (Not my job to tell you how you should feel about it. :)  )

  • Like Scott & Kathy I see no reason to use tables and your feelings on tables are your own. Personally I'd be more inclined to be "ashamed" of:

    <!--[if gte IE 9]><div id="gte-ie9" class="ie"><![endif]-->
    <!--[if IE 8]><div id="ie8" class="ie"><![endif]-->
    <!--[if IE 7]><div id="ie7" class="ie ie67"><![endif]-->
    <!--[if lte IE 6]><div id="ie6" class="ie ie67"><![endif]-->

    Since as far as I can tell there is no reason to do that much work when I can't see any difference between IE 8 & Firefox but that's just me.
