Azure Site Recovery - Moving hyper-v Host RRS feed

  • Question

  • I currently back up a few servers to Azure Site Recovery as part of our disaster recovery plan. Due to a hardware upgrade, I will be moving the VM's to a new Host.

Is there a way I can continue protection without having to re-upload the entire VHD again, as this takes 4-5 days per VM.

Answers

  • As long as the new host is in the same Cloud/Site and the agent is installed on the new host, replication would work.

  • Does the new Host server need the same name as the old Host server or as long as the hyper-v is the same name should it be fine?
