Azure Site Recovery - Moving hyper-v Host

Question
-
I currently back up a few servers to Azure Site Recovery as part of our disaster recovery plan. Due to a hardware upgrade, I will be moving the VM's to a new Host.
Is there a way I can continue protection without having to re-upload the entire VHD again, as this takes 4-5 days per VM.

As long as the new host is in the same Cloud/Site and the agent is installed on the new host, replication would work.

Does the new Host server need the same name as the old Host server or as long as the hyper-v is the same name should it be fine?Friday, May 22, 2015 8:39 AM
