Outlook 2013 inline response Write event triggered after Outlook windows closed RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

When a composed message window is opened, close Outlook. Outlook "Want to save your changes" dialog prompt. Select Yes in this dialog, our Write event is called to show our dialog, close our dialog. And then Outlook main window disappears.

But when an inline response window is opened, close Outlook. Outlook main window disappears first, and then show our dialog. Is this an Outlook bug?

    Thanks.

  • Would be nice it did, but it doesn't.

What exactly are you asking? If I tell you that it is a bug, how would that change anything? It is what it is. Even if MS agreed that it is a bug and release a hot fix (which I very much doubt), there will still be unpatched computers exhibiting the old behavior, so one way or another you will have to accommodate the existing Outlook behavior.

Again, does this cause a particular problem?

  • Why do you expect a particular order? It was never documented to be one way or another.

    Why it is a problem?

  • It looks wired that our dialog appears after Outlook main windows close. Should inline response has the same behavior as an inspector composed message?
