automation without controller RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Regarding automation using APIs, what all operations are possible without a controller?

Usually the API samples which are provided, connects to a controller, select target and schedule tests, and create package.

Can i do these jobs without using a controller?

  • You can't run select targets, run tests, etc. w/o a controller because it is through the controller that tests and the clients are exposed. Reading, merging and repackaging of existing packages can be run w/o a controller using the packaging API (Microsoft.Windows.Kits.Hardware.ObjectModel.Submission).
