SQL SERVE 2008 capacity, unsuccessful log-in RRS feed

  • 1 .I have seen in lot of forums, but I want someone who really know what the max of database size supported by SQL SERVER 2008 with acceptable performance ?

    2. Can we disable password / User ID after a number  of unsuccessful log-in attempts  ?

  • The size for express edition and compact edition is just 4 gb and that is for a good reason since MSFT gives these two for free of cost. Apart from this , the other editions has no limit on the size of database - as long as you have enough disk space and memory to support such size the SQL databases will perform optimally.

  • 1. i'd say it's not a size of a database, it's a design would determine performance - virtually any size.

    But what would you do if user doesn't even exists? How'd you disable that?

     My compagny has choosen SQL SERVER 2008 and wrote some technical requirements I want to learn more about SQL SERVER like in Oracle there after a number  of unsuccessful log-in attempts fixed in FAILED_LOGIN_ATTEMPTS which disables User .

                                              Workgroup Edition upto 4GD
                                              Stnd, Enterprise, Devel support up to Max size

    THIS IS NOT TRUE.

    Express and Compact edition supports upto 4GB.
    All other editions unlimited including workgroup.
