    Hi All,

I just published my asp.net application on my web server, I am using windows SQL server 2008 R2,

The Application ask for User and Password, and as soon as you input that information the system will show you the main manu. but if you click in any option Internet explorer show the error message Login failed for user 'sa'.

My SQL server has enable the user sa and also has a password protection.

Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

Thanks in advance for the help...!!!!

    Hi jpuga,

Please be advised that if you try to connect from your site to you database, you cannot use the "sa" credentials.

SA is system administrator and it is the administrator account for managing ALL the databases on your server.

To resolve this issue, you need to login to your database server via SQL Management Studio Express tool, please create a new db user and associate this user to your database. Next, please alter your connection string to use this newly created sql database user. I guarantee it will work!

Please mark this response as an "answer" if it helps you. Thanks heaps!

    Hi..

Check your connection string in the first place, check the password and username.

    - As necro pointed, it is not advisable to use System Admin(sa) account for application login. Always, have a user created and point your web.config to that user.

Here is how you can add a login to the sql server:
