Push external content and signals into the Office Graph from 3rd party systems RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am researching the ability to surface content in Delve from external applications. I have reviewed the information covered in the Ignite 2015 session entitled "Building Solutions with Office Graph" at

One of the demos from the presentation shows content from Salesforce showing up in Delve after being analyzed by Graph's Insights. While some of the features of the Graph api were not available at the time it appears that they are available now.

From what I can tell, there are two entry points for including external data in Graph:

    1. Graph Data Extensions (openTypeExtension resource type) -

    2. Office 365 Connectors -

Unfortunately, the documentation doesn't explain how the data will be made available in Graph once it has been posted. For example, Office 365 Connectors have "Cards" that can be configured to show messages with graphic content, buttons and options, etc.

Do these Connector Cards show up in Delve? What about the Graph Data Extensions, do they show up in Delve? Is there a way to customize the graphical representation of Data Extensions similar to the Connector Cards?if not, what are they used for?

Ultimately, if I wanted to create content in Delve similar to the Salesforce content shown in the demo; how would I go about it?

  • Exactly the same question here.

I understand Delve uses SharePoint Search Engine as source for much of the data.

So we are trying to create lists with columns to be mapped to managed properties so Sharepoint indexes them and Delve can show. But no luck till now.
