Cannot connect to VSTFS (NOT Preview) using VS2010

    Question

  • Hi all,

when I try to connect my VS 2010 to VSTFS I always get an error message:

TF31002: Unable to connect to this Team Foundation Server.

I'm sure I have installed SP1 for VS2010 and the path KB2581206 mentioned in several articles related to VSTFS and VS2010.

I used this URL in the "https://karsteinxyz.visualstudio.com" in the "Add Team Foundation Server" dialog.

    Any ideas?

    Regards
    Ingo

  • Hi Ingo,

Seems your TFService account is ok, VS 2012 is ok too.

Please try to repair or re-install VS 2010.

If the issue still exists, please let us know the exact version of VS 2010.

    Regards,

  • Hi Ingo,

Can you log on your https://karsteinxyz.visualstudio.com via IE?

Do you have sufficient permissions? If you do not the account owner, or not collection administrator of the TFService, would you please let the administrator check the permission of your account?

Would you please change to use another network connection if it is possible, like change work place to home, does the issue still exist?

    Regards,

  • Hi Lily,

    thanks again!

I can logon via IE. From the same machine. I tried different network connections. No change. I tried it with VS2012. This works. But not in VS2010. - I have seen it working for colleagues... Frustrating. Any other ideas?

    Regards
