SQL Server 2014 MDS Add-in For Microsoft Excel Install on Excel 2016

Question

Hi,
When I try and install the SQL Server 2014 Master Data Services Add-in For Microsoft Excel I get the following message:
These prerequisites are not installed:
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 Extended
64-bit version of Microsoft Excel 2010
All prerequisites are listed at:
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkId=309620.The prerequisites from the above link are different than what the dialog box says. I am not sure what is meant by Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 Extended, but I did install the Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime.
OS: Windows 10 Enterprise
Office: Office Pro Plus 2016Thank you.

1. Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 Extended
That actually means Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 Full.
Can you check if the full .net framework is enabled. Although, I think Windows 10 came with .Net 4.6 Full by default.
You can check the .net version at
SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v4\Full
SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v4\Full2. 64-bit version of Microsoft Excel 2010
Since you have the Office 2016, make sure download the latest excel addin at
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=42298
We refreshed the addin to support 2016 at 08/20/2015And depends which version of Office install, you need choose x86 or amd64.
Most of time, people install the x86 Office. If you are not sure, you can try both.- Proposed as answer by Vincent Chen (X) Friday, November 20, 2015 9:23 PM

I encountered the same error.
As it turned out for me, I had the 32 bits office version installed on my 64 bits machine. You can check this via the Check File=> Account => About button, located on the bottom-right side. The 32-bits addin installer resolved my issue.

I checked the registry as you suggested above and .Net 4.6 is installed as expected. I am using the 64 bit version of Excel 2016 and all of the updates have been applied. When I installed Office 2016 I upgraded from Office 2013. I did not have the MDS add-on installed when I was using Office 2013.
I am still not able to install the add-in.
Thanks.
