Flag tasks where Work does not equal Actual Work in time periods prior to Today RRS feed

  • Question

  • I’m using Project professional / Project Server 2010, SP1

    Here’s the problem I am trying to solve for:

    I want to add a graphical indicator to a task in Project Professional where there is ‘un-used’ work scheduled in the past (in other words, where Work does not equal Actual Work in time periods prior to Today, flag the task).

    What is the proper syntax to use?

  • Hi,

    Syntax in a formula or in a VBA procedure? I don't think this is possible in a formula. I could help you in VBA ifyou want to go that route.

  • Hey Jan,

    Syntax in a formula is the approach I was thinking about.  I open to VBA.

  • Hi,

    How to install a macro is explained in masamiki.com

    Sub FlagUnUsed

    for each job in activeproject.tasks

    if not job is nothing then

    Worktodate=(job.timescaledata(Date,date,pjtasktimescaledcumulativework,pjtimescaledays))[1]

    job.flag1=(worktodate>task.actualwork)

    end if

    next job

    end sub

    --------------

    Note: untested!

    --------------

    This sets flag1 to yes for tasks with unused work.
