Driver Deployment on Test target RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am trying to set up a Host and test machine for Driver Deployment. After going though topics on driver deployment in msdn,I did necessary changes in network settings of both the machine and now i am able to ping to and from Host machine.I see that it is able to receive the packet.I also installed  WDK Test Target Setup x64.msi installed on my Test machine.

but when i configure deployment settings in my visual studio 2013 i get below error

    Provisioning log
    Installing necessary components...
Failed operation: An error occurred while connecting from the remote machine.
    Error: 10060 (TimedOut)
Error message: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond 192.168.0.1:50005

Connection is through LAN and iam able to ping to and from the Host machine.

do i need to install any components on Test machine or Host machine?

The above setup is needed for Driver verification..i.e is Pool Tracing,DDI compilance...

I am using Visual Studio 2013 and Driver verification is for UMDF Driver

  • Assuming that you are using the Win10 version of the WDK, try the following:

On the target machine, if you open up the service manager (press Win+R, then type in "services.msc" and press enter), make sure that the service named "WDK Remote Communication Service" is present and running. You can also try stopping and restarting the WDK Remote Communication Service, and/or rebooting the computer.

    Does this solve the issue?
