database mail configuration

hi, 

  please tell how to configure database mail through smtp, can i configure it with hot mail account and what server name i should give, if i configure with hot mail.

yes , you can configure database mail using Gmail server or hotmail  server for this use accurate exchange server name.

in SQL server 2014 they provides a better way to send mail using  gmail or hot mail.

• Hotmail SMTP server name: smtp.live.com
• Hotmail SMTP user name: your Hotmail account
• Hotmail SMTP password: your Hotmail password
• Hotmail SMTP port: 25 or 465
