SSL certificate validation

    Question

  • Hi,

I am developing Windows store application for my business and one of the requirements is an SSL certificate validation.

It seems it isn't possible on Windows Phone, yet there is no clear answer about Windows 8* devices (PC and tablets).

Is it possible to do it from my code? And if so, how?

    Thanks in advance!

  • I am unclear on what you mean by "SSL certificate validation".  I know what validation is, but I'm don't know what you mean to perform it yourself.

NOTE: If I ask for code, please provide something that I can drop directly into a project and run (including XAML), or an actual application project. I'm trying to help a lot of people, so I don't have time to figure out weird snippets with undefined objects and unknown namespaces.

  • Hi,

Sorry for not being clear before.

I want to check for Certificate issuer name, expiry date, host name match, certificate chain etc.

    Thanks in advance.

  • There's an entire API set for this:
