After a Jan 2019 service pack there is no new version for windows Iot core, few days ago Windows 10 has released May update and we're still waiting for next version of windows Iot core, we use windows Iot in widespread in our iot products, so is it any time estimate for next update for windows Iot core ?

Also raspberry pi 3 b almost discontinue and the raspberry pi 3 b+ can order from world seller, and there is no stable and reliable version of windows 10 Iot core for raspberry pi 3 b+, it`s the next question, is there any plan to release a stable and reliable version of windows 10 Iot core for rasbperry pi b+ which support wifi and bluetooth?

  • Hello Parsa Karami,

Microsoft publishes OS updates at regular intervals and the IoT Core OS updates are classified as

    • Feature Updates - containing new features/improvements, at a half yearly cadence
    • Quality Updates - containing security related fixes and critical bug fixes, at a monthly cadence

You can update the Windows IoT Core to the latest build 17763.503 which is publish recently.

At the moment, I have no idea about the plan about windows iot core supports Raspberry Pi 3B+. You can post the requirement via Feedback Hub app.

    Best Regards,

    Michael

  • Hi Micheal, Thanks for your reply.

The last insider version which you can also see in this link was build 17744 that released in august 2018, more than 9 month ago!!

Raspberry Pi 3 model B almost discontinue, and raspberry foundation plan to replace it with B+ model, so there must be a plan for windows 10 IOT core users.

  • Hello Parsa Karami,

Thanks for your suggestion. I will report user voice to Microsoft. Recently, i think Windows IoT Core on Raspberry Pi 3B is stable and works fine, Microsoft will provide free support on Windows IoT Core. Please feel free post your issues here if you encounter any problem in you experience on Windows IoT Core.

    Best Regards,

    Michael

Rita Han said that "We’re currently working on features that need a longer lead time and we will provide an update in the future on when the next release will be available.  We also expect your IoT Core apps will continue to work on the next release"
