Kinect WPF SDK? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi!

I'm wondering if you have any plans on doing a full-featured WPF SDK for Kinect (so we get WPF events for the input, e.g. KinectJointEnter etc.)? In that case, what's the roadmap for this? Are you planning on doing any Kinect-specific WPF controls?

    BR,
    -Sebastian

  • Sebastian, at the moment we have no roadmap details to share beyond those covered under question 8 of the FAQ (http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/kinectsdk/thread/927a8e6f-ce08-4fe8-9819-e5e05dd0d9d6):

    8. Question: What is the roadmap for Kinect SDK?
8.1. When will the next release be?
8.2. When will SDK be available for commercial use?
We've previously announced that there will be a release licensed for commercial use, but we have no further details at this time.

Sorry about the lack of guidance for the time being.

  • Sebastian-

Our beta currently doesn't provide any direct WPF integration. It is on our list for consideration for v1 and beyond, but we don't have a plan of record to share now.

    Thanks,

Did you try out Touchtech Kinect SDK with the Kinect for Windows Beta? That might be a good input reference for what can be done. It can be found on http://ttkinect.codeplex.com
