Solution Navigator - No SSDT/SQLPROJ Folders Shown RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I just installed SSDT, created new SQL Server Project, and now I'm facing following problem:

The SQL Server project appears in the solution (I'm using Solution Navigator), however no folders shown.

There is simple workaround - to open solution with Solution Explorer, although it's quite uncomfortable.

Have anyone bumped into this issue?

    Regards,

    Mark

  • Hi Mark,

What exactly are you seeing in Solution Explorer that is different than in Solution Navigator for a new project? If it's easier to send screenshots, you can email me directly at sarahmcd at microsoft dot com. I'll post the resolution back on here if we go via email.

    Thanks!

    Sarah

  • Hi,

    The scenario is as following.

    1. Open VS2010
    2. Open existing solution
    3. Launch (if you don't have it open already) Solution Navigator
    4. Add new SQL Server Project to the solution
    5. Import existing DB into the project

The expected result - DB objects appear in the project structure shown in Solution Navigator.

The actual result - neither folders nor files appear. In the same time, the expected structure is displayed by Solution Explorer.
