How to query multiple records? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

we have a client application that at startup shows a grid with patients and information like first name, last name, birthdate, gender; last weight, last length and some calculated fields like BMI.

In our database we have a Patients table that contains all known patients in our system together with their HealthVault ID.

What we want to do is:

    - all health data is stored in healthVault (not in our Patient table)
    - if the client application it started, we want to query HealthVault to retrieve the information of multiple patients so that the grid can be shown

But, is it possible to get information about multiple patients in one call? Or are we doing it the wrong way - how is this kind of use case normally handled with HealthVault?

  • Are you using Patient Connect?

  • That would indeed be the idea, because we have a platform that interacts with HealthVault instead of a user interface.

  • Have you looked at the GetAuthorizedPeople API?

  • Thank you. Yes, but this does not give back the Things I'm interested in, only PersonInfo instances?

  • We had the same problem and as far as I'm aware you can not get all records in one go. The product team said they would look into this for the future. Use offline access and make one request per patient. Multithreading is supposedly ok, but we haven't tried yet.

  • Indeed, it's not possible. You have to keep a copy of the data yourself in order to do that. Which is a shame, because we use HealthVault to avoid just that.
