Access the App while pressing the short cut key(eg Ctrl+Shift+Z) from outside of the App (such as from notepad ,browser etc) in Windows 8 metro App

    Question

  • How can we Access the Windows 8 metro App by pressing the short cut key(eg Ctrl+Shift+Z) from other applications(such as from notepad ,browser etc)

We can achieve the same functionality using vb code with win form application(using regedit).

Is there any option for regedit implementation in Windows 8 Metro (WINRT)?

Please let me know the possibilities for RegEdit or another alternatives for above functionality

  • you the user is in notepad and then presses a specific shortcut which should activate the store app?

Well you can't. a app can't change the system behavior that much.

If it's an enterprise app you can access the register from a brokered component but normally store apps don't have any access to the register.
